Public key certificates

Public key certificates are essential for secure access to network services, among others HTTPS. They assure the user is talking with the correct server and not an intruder (man-in-the-middle attack). Most public-key certificates being used by DEI services are issued by the Let's Encrypt certification authority (CA).
